Simeone learned it all in the Serie A...Argie ...and Spanish Leagues...

Derek Hales & Mike Flanagan were sent off for Charlton for fighting after Hales had been called a one bollocked bastard by his strike partner.

Both sent off from memory.

Should have been red carded for it, you can't go around assaulting people even though they are on the same side?

Did Bowyer and Dyer get sent off or were they both yellow carded?

I guess so, I recalled reading the comparison earlier to Italians.

I thought at first he'd whacked the official holding the board but was one of his underlings.

To make his team competitive with Real & Barca is an amazing achievement & I guess he knows he has to frustrate teams to do it.

I believe the guy is actually an Atletico official, and he got a whack for not sorting out the substitution in time, even after Simeone's delaying tactics.

Were you refering to my comment about them being like Juventus of mid 90's?

Re: Bayern Munich v Atletico Madrid
It was just a little bit of petty time wasting
His whole team are drilled in it as well. The earlier description of being like an old school Italian Serie A team is right.

Throwing it away is a bit of an exaggeration, he dropped it behind his back.

Hitting the guy was weird though, the guy's expression was pretty priceless.

Simeone grabbed a ball that went out last night & threw it away to waste time before smacking the bloke who was sorting out a substitution.
A couple of weeks ago he instructed a ball boy to throw a ball on to stop a Malaga attack.
Bilic is passionate but reasonable. Simeone is a crafty cynical feral dog who would arm his defenders if he thought he could get away with it.

Simeone is the sort of player / manager that you love if he's yours but detest if he's not.... but far rather a manager with passion than an LVG notebook type.

Bilic has the passion and is very similar to Simeone but with more class (I get the impression that Slav has reigned it in a bit since he's been with us?).

I wouldn't mind him being here, more 'interesting' than most. Just seems like a complete classless wanker to me, would be a perfect fit for Chelsea.

MH - I don't even want him on these shores, seems like a massive wanker, would get tongues wagging though I suppose.

Thought Bayern were unlucky and still would say they are better than Madrid. I had 40 notes on Bayern winnng the thing.

You have to admire what Simeone has achieved against the odds but surprised that Chelsea were supposedly keen.
They are a dogged team & hardly a thrill a minute. Which is supposedly what the Mute wanted.

Athletico play a like the Italian sides of the 90's, particularly Juventus when they had Pippo Inzaghi up front and played very much on the counter attack.
